Water Department Maintenance Worker
Daggett Community Services District
Position Summary
Under general supervision, performs basic maintenance, repair, and operational duties related to the District’s water system, facilities, equipment, and grounds. This position assists with daily operations, leak repairs, inspections, meter reading, and general maintenance work.
Essential Duties
Assist with maintenance and repair of water lines, valves, hydrants, pumps, and related equipment
Read water meters and report problems or leaks
Perform general maintenance of District buildings and grounds
Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
Assist with emergency repairs and service calls
Maintain basic records and reports
Follow District safety procedures
Perform other related duties as assigned Example: Painting, sweeping, weeding and general maintanace of the district.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Basic maintenance, construction, plumbing, landscaping, or mechanical experience preferred
Ability to perform physical labor outdoors
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Valid California Driver License required
Certifications
Water certifications are preferred but not required at the time of hire.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
